I took the RX100 and the X-Pro on holiday to Morocco - I took the X-Pro out once and left it in the villa the rest of the holiday. The RX100 is the perfect inconspicuous travel cam, quite important in a country where people are quite sensitive about photography.

Is this thread dying? One from yesterday - I found out that with the sun in the right place The Shard acts as the world's largest photo reflector and makes evening commuters look like they're in a movie:

I hope this thread is not dying. I'll try to do my part, but the diet of my RX100 is mainly family stuff or stuff for ebay.

Here is all I can offer at the moment...

oh, forgot I had this one on flickr... this was shot as a JPG. On second though, I probably should have shot in RAW and had a shorter exposure, recovering the shadows in post, but oh well, for me the RX100 is a grab n go type of camera.

Thanks Froyd.

Another attempt to keep the thread alive...

Took the RX100 on a trip to the Yorkshire Dales last week - the second holiday running in which my "big" camera has mainly stayed at home and the RX100 hasn't let me down as a main cam. If you forced me to sell all but one of my cameras this is the one I'd keep:

Lovely shots Kuvvy - we have a "RX100 does moody Northern landscapes" thing going on here ;0).

A few more from the Yorkshire Dales:

Kuvvy-

Did you convert the images above to BW or is this the High Contrast BW mode?

I shoot in RAW and then convert in LR. I recently made a pre-set which kinda gives me the look I want as a starting point but I will however tweak it where necessary.

froyd, these shots were taken yesterday, around midday, at a local beauty spot. Though a bright and sunny day there was a lot of cloud. These were jpeg shots, accidentally I might add as I always shoot RAW. I'd been playing with settings, like you do, and forgotten to put it back to RAW.
The highlights in the clouds had blown right out. I prefer B&W anyway so changed it with LR4. I find the jpegs from the camera can't stand much post processing but in answer to your question I did indeed darken the sky, not by much, but I am guilty

Paul

Paul, good stuff!

I'm new to digital so I'm actually amazed at how much I can do to the jpgs. One day I'll try RAWs, but so far I have not felt the need.

A couple of shots taken at the place I'm holding my exhibition. Both shots on JPEG setting and the second shot was taken at the longest setting on the digital zoom. Quite impressive.

Nice, kuvvy... I thought I read, a few weeks ago, that you were planning to sell the RX100. With results like these, are you now re-considering? I vote that you keep it!
