Nigel, thanks for posting. This is neat and would have missed it if you hadn't.

We have only half the mileage on my wife's 99 ML320 and am looking forward to the 500,000 mile goal ourselves, probably won't live long enough to get 800k. As a lifelong user of these vehicles, we tend to keep them forever, like my Leica camera.

I will send this link to Gary Anderson at the MBCA, as he is always looking for topics to put in the award-winning club magazine.

So many questions spring to mind after watching this but a photographic related one I wonder where he's stored all his negatives?

Well I've found two previous threads, with just a quick search now, I haven't found the fourth one yet. But to answer your question, I guess if you are not looking for something, you can't find it! I posted in the "Travel" forum as I thought it was the most appropriate but other's decided to post in other forums.

Having said that. I think this story deserves all the attention we can give it and myself and other's who have posted in this thread, previously missed the earlier threads.

Edit: Ok I've found the fourth one now.

Uniquely amazing! What can I do with such an overwhelming inspiration? Get depressed I suppose. :-)

Nigel, thanks for posting this. Does anyone know if there will be any more substantial media storytelling about this amazing journey?

He must have saved up a lot to embark on a journey like this. Cannot imagine how much he has to set aside to pay for shipping, buying film, developing film, pay for fuel, buy food etc.

Without kids and paying for a house, he can do it the way he has done (skip hotels/restaurants). 10k/year x 20 = 200k USD, prob cheaper than most ppl's houses and money investing in children. Amazing and inspirational!

Inspirational. This is on my bucket list. I have some questions:

1> How did he finance this journey?
2> Is there a gallery from over the years that we can view?
3> Where does he develop his film?
