Optics and Lenses - This forum is aimed towards the TECHNICAL side of photographic OPTICS and LENSES. There will be some overlap by camera/manufacturer, but this forum is for the heavy duty tech discussions. This is NOT the place to discuss a specific lens or lens line, do that in the appropriate forum. This is the forum to discuss optics or lenses in general, to learn about the tech behind the lenses and images. IF you have a question about a specific lens, post it in the forum about that type of camera, NOT HERE.

Industar-50, Collapsible vs Rigid depth

Does anyone happen to have the collapsed dimensions of their Industar-50 handy? I'd love to know how far it sticks out from the body when collapsed.

I want to carry a convenience Zorki around with me, but I'm trying to gauge just how "pocketable" it will be compared to the rigid Industar-50 I have now. That'll really drive my purchase decision for a messenger bag which can best accommodate that sort of setup.

Thanks in advance!

The I-50 and I-22 project 18mm from the lens flange when collapsed - not including a lens cap/filter etc. It's a lot smaller than the rigid version. It makes a Zorki 1 pocketable - if you have fairly large pockets and don't mind the weight in them! Something like an inside jacket pocket will accommodate it.

By the way, you'd probably have got a quicker answer if you'd posted in the FSU sub-forum.

Thanks for the info. I realized this after I had posted it and saw the giant READ INSTRUCTIONS text above, which I somehow managed to miss when hitting the Post button

Merci!
