Surely anoying but one example does not make bad QC. Grease residue should not be on a new lens - of course.

I did follow your painful road to a clean lens, but I don't think you have a good case for bashing Voigtlander. You should have returned the lens to BH and let them do things right. All companies will slip less than perfect samples through their QC from time to time - even Leica. IMO The real indicator of customer oriented company is how easy they or their partners corrects the mistakes. (BTW. I don't even know if the two vendors you have been dealing with are official Voigtlander resellers - they are not on
the distributors list)
