Will Your Computer STILL Access the Internet On Monday?

"As many as 64,000 Americans' computers may still be affected by malware that will cause them to lose Internet service come Monday, so if you haven't already, make sure you aren't among them."

see http://www.latimes.com/business/tech...,2973272.story

computers infected with the DNS malware will be shut off the internet.

Despite the propaganda from Apple, yes your shiny Mac can attract malware and viruses
See here --> http://www.dcwg.org/detect/checking-osx-for-infections/

You would have to be pretty stupid to have this malware on your PC though!

I found that open DNS is faster than my IP's DNS...never tried my own DNS..

One word:

OpenDNS

It's free and trivial to implement.

It sounds like a scare tactics: or reformat your disk and reinstall Windows (brrr...ouch) or submit your computer to full FBI inspection (voila !) Looks like another hype pulled by the governments for leagal access to citizens computers. I wonder how many video and software pirats they trapped.

I run a home network, my DNS server is the router... and the Mac with Snow Leopard cannot connect through the internet without passing through the router...

Problem solved.

Number seems very low... 64,000? I'm sure there 64,000 affected by malware every single day.
