All you people moan and groan about the death of film.

So someone helps keep film and film cameras alive to a young audience through clever marketing techniques, and then everyone here starts bashing them because they want to make a small profit.

You know, they clean 'em up and presumably make sure they work before selling them.
I don't think it's all that bad of a deal.

How much money have we all lost buying old gear cheap, that didn't work?

Seen in that way, I did buy a Kiev for 100$... Still, those at 600$ made me laugh.

I think this is more of an art project and priced as such, given how completely over the top the design is. If people buy this, they're unlikely to be taking pictures with them.

It's a good idea, though. I could go to the flea market here and vandalize a few of those $5 Zorkies

If it takes a gimmick to keep film alive, I'm all for it. I'm not ashamed to say that I started getting into film photography through Lomo (I'm sure it's the same for a lot of my generation).

Hell if it keeps companies making film, I'm all for it.

Got to keep Film alive - by any means possible.

it's a shame they don't come in black, it'd be so much more stealthy...

They should make a Black Electrical Tape Edition. For $700, for that extra black tape stealthiness.

I bought my wife a "snakeskin" Fed 5B for Christmas a few years ago. She's never even shot a roll of film with it, but it looks pretty, I guess. I paid roughly $75 shipped from the motherland. I suppose these, with a proper CLA, some form of warranty and the artwork on them really isn't a horrible deal. It's a little steep, but like someone else mentioned, the people buying these probably aren't buying them as users, it's probably an appreciation for art thing.

It's not much different than Urban Outfitters taking a standard Holga and slapping a $60 sticker on it. I remember buying multiple Holgas back 6 or 7 years ago for $20 each from Freestyle Photo.

Where there's a will, there's a market.

Wish they would sell the standard Fed 2. I've been after one of those for a while...
