Hi and welcome to RFF. Make sure you do not adjust the shutter speed of your Zorki 4 unless the shutter is cocked. Cocking after changing the speed can cause damage. Enjoy the camera, the standard Jupiter 8 lens is well regarded and should produce good results.

Welcome from Memphis, txchappy! I have a FED-2 and use a variety of lenses with it - lenses are dirt cheap on eBay, or see Fedka.com for good prices on refurbished Soviet gear.

Love your earlier reference. "There are no good white basketball players."

Welcome aboard!
The Zorki and Jupiter are a good starting point...a nice way ease into the FSU side of photography. Just make enugh room on your shelves for the almost inevitable additions.

Got the camera today. Looks pretty nice, shutter works well. Gonna load some film in it later today. Has the red '50 years of communism' stamp on the back.

Welcome and congrats. I have two Zorki 4's myself. They're really enjoyable cameras to use.

Loaded with Pro 400H. Snapped a few shots. It’s hard to get a good tight focus on a 4 year old boy who can’t stay still for more than 1/100th of a second.

yeeeeah, not an easy gig. My grandson here, not even close to 4, but in motion constantly.

Outside light, f8 + pre-focus @ 3m should give you about 6ft of DOF to catch the little dynamo.

Pronounce it "Pree-VYET" -- means "regards," literally, but "howdy" captures it. Hope you enjoy your package from Ukraine.
