Normal ? Or insect eggs ?

When I was dusting my MP, found this..

Some black stuff. Its not on my M7 and M6. Is it a light seal of some sort ? Or might it be insect eggs ? As I found an insect when I was cleaning it.

Having seen the remains of bugs fall out of several cameras I've worked on, it's not out of the realm of possibilities those are eggs. Hard to tell from the photo though, even when blown up.

Just had a look inside my just fresh from the factory MP.

edit: took a close up picture with flash - yes it's in mine too. Nothing to worry about so. Took me a while to get the same angle, but it's definitely there. I will post a pic up later to put your mind at rest!

I'm not buying an MP then - I don't want insect eggs in my camera! Such a shame as they had a really good reputation up till now. Glad I saw this post before buying one.

Interesting, in mine (Nr: 2940***) this little gap is not sealed.

I'm not an expert but I think insect eggs are usually white.

Hey doolittle, i think we're the only peeps with the strange black stuff!

Asked the same question at LUF, and none of them have this thing on their MP. Though theirs are early MPs with the older styl ISO.
