B&W previsualization with a NEX7

One of the side benefits I'm immediately noticing with my new NEX7 that Brown Santa dropped off this morning is the ability to previsualize B&W images in the EVF. I'm shooting RAW+JPEG and am floored by the ability to see in monochrome real time.

This is huge for me and it alone is enough to sell me on the versatility of EVFs. This may be old hat for some, but I've never used my DSLRs in "live view" - I'm not even sure they support the feature. I haven't tried this with my V1, I'm sure it does the same.

very interesting. How one actually gets one's hands on a nex-7 is another question...

I like that you can view in black and white even when shooting in raw only. Previous cameras I have used required jpeg to use this feature.

I didn't notice! I'll have to try that - I habitually shoot in RAW+JPEG, but I can't tell you the last time I actually used one of those JPEGs for anything.

I just tried Joe's setup. Thanks, Joe - that was a great tip that will help save card space and buffer time!
