W/NW Modern Architecture

Well, let's say 20th century or younger.

FLW's Hanna-Honeycomb House (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanna-Honeycomb_House); famous for it's lack of right angles ....

Nice visit on a rainy day on the Stanford campus a couple of weeks back.

Nikkor 50/1.4 NKJ, Kodak BW400CN:

Cheers,

Roland.

Frank Lloyd Wrights "Falling Water". Outside was spectacular - but the interior was a bit of a disappointment. Very cramped and low ceilings.

More Gheary buildings. This is in Dusseldorf, Germany. Known among the locals as the "crooked buildings".

Frank Lloyd Wright's game was "Compression and Release", hence the low cielings and narrow halls which lead to more... open rooms in his buildings. I personally really enjoy FLW's interior work. Gehry, on the other hand... just seems to neglect his surroundings and plop down piles of metal where he's asked to build.
