Olelovold, some great shots here - unmistakeably London.

Three from today, my first time out with the camera for weeks:

I like the 1st (various men) and the last (commuting man) a LOT. The camera is working great, and your eye even better!! Thanks.

US Memorial Day weekend carnival

So it's Memorial Day weekend here in the USA and there are a lot of local carnivals around with amusements and concessions. I decided to see if I could stress this camera a bit by going out after dark. All of these were taken handheld with the a Fuji X-Pro 1 and the Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 lens. I used aperture priority and set the ISO to Auto 6400. Yes handheld, just tucked in the elbows and took a deep breath. For the most part they look pretty good, the noise is quite acceptable, and I could print these easily at 8x12. Like a lot of folks I'm waiting on Lightroom to get updated so these are jpeg's SOOC. I think they came out pretty good but I've got one that I'm holding back on to use for the current round of the RFF Postcard Project that is really excellent.

@ 1/20 sec, f/8, ISO5000

@ 1/13 sec, f/8, ISO5000

@ 1/120 sec, f/4, ISO6400

@ 1/40 sec, f/8, ISO5000

Oh, wow, semilog, that's really good.

Just got back from New York and had a couple of good walks with the XP1 and 35mm.

Thanks, folks. Finally feel that I'm getting into this camera's operational space. It has a learning curve for sure. Preloading all of the custom settings and relying on them rather than fine-grained ISO control (RFF'r irq506 provided invaluable guidance here) was a breakthrough.
