The photos look like reportage / street type photos.

They show a demonstration by "one side", but you have NO way of telling whether or not the photographer agreed with them. Was the photographer selecting shots that supported his point of view, or was he ridiculing the protestors?

I hate to bring any more politics into this, but it does seem from this European domiciled Kiwi that some of our trans Atlantic cousins can be rather sensitive. Particularly ironic when these same people are so loud in proclaiming how they are freer than anywhere else in the world. Questioning, protesting, dissenting views etc are all part of a healthy, vibrant democracy. Everyone supporting the leadership (or keeping very quiet when not in agreement) at all times is totalitarianism (see N. Korea).

As long as the photos fall within the accepted usage guidelines (i.e. were taken using a RF camera etc) & are not illegally obtained, then they should stay. They shouldn't be removed since someone doesn't agree with what they determine to be a political statement, nor should they be removed because they aren't "good enough" (note: I'm not commenting on whether I think these are good or not).

I do agree that if there are concerns with content (photgraphs and comments/threads) then a general disclaimer should be made visible.

Paul

Your voices have been heard.

Before anyone gets carried away lets make one thing clear. I did not delete ALL the opictures in the gallery as some have stated. Furthermore, since my main concern was to avoid deviding people on the forum it is clear that these picture were not doing so and as of last night Neil was going to repost them all.

What I have noiced here is that everybody is ignoring my initial reason for doing so which I have highlighted in yellow in a post earlier on this thread. I guess you cannot please everyone.
