Zenit Identification: anyone?

Hi I'm struggling with this photo of a Zenit. The camera looks as large as a medium format camera based on the hands holding it... I've gone thru Camerapedia and Wikipedia plus one Commie Camera site and have not been able to specifically ID this one.

Help's appreciated and a link would really help if not then an image of the camera that's better than this one.

thanks Jan

Jan,

It looks like a kid is holding the camera, which is why I think it looks like a Pentax MF. The Zenit is a 35mm Russian (or FSU) camera.

With best regards.

I would go for Zenit TTL, model 12 (12XP) has different trigger.
Anyway, this one is really beaten up. It works ?

Thanks guys, I know about Zenit SLR's but this thing looks a lot larger than a normal 35 mm. I think the answer may be the hands belong to a child. I'm not sure who is holding that camera but I've come across nothing in my searches suggesting a limited run MF camera by Zenit. Sadly I'll give up the idea of a large mysterious FSU MF SLR. I wish it was a fact though I like those Helios lenses. Nice and contrasty! Imagine some 120 Tri X shot by a MF Zenit!! :- )

For 120 film use in FSU you can try a Kiev 60 Jan, that is if you can find one that does not self destruct and or can give you even frame spacing on the negs.

It is a big and heavy SLR.
