Again a 6x9 Wide Angle DIY Project

That back has masks for 645, and 6X6. It's a reliable back when in good condition.

I bought the masks OEM new from Tony the Olive Oil and Mamiya guy. He can rebuild or provide refurb all the Mamiya Press camera equipment.

I have a type III back, with the special cable, that I am thinking of sending to him to refurb for me. The type III back is the one with the shutter release built into the end of the back, facilitating use of the ends of the back as camera grips.

Unfortunately I have not continued the project right now.

I would like to create something myself as well.. Wide-angle, normal film or 120. Still in a concept phase, but based on the Mamiya back is very smart in my opinion!

Interested in how this will progress.

I´m thinking of going about the same ordeal slightly differently. Got hold of a Polaroid 600SE body (the bare bones of it, came sans lens board/front, no rangefinder unit, no covers or panels of any kind). Will use my 600SE backs from the 110A /600SE conversion, both Polaroid and 120, they obviously fit to the body no problem. Up front I too would like an Angulon 65, maybe not the super. Time will tell.

There was some minor progress on this project:

The camera body has been made out of sheet brass, which is bent to form a rectangle with rounded edges. There is also a tripot mount included:

I will solder a mount for the film hoder at the back and a front plate.

The front plate will take a ring out of aluminium (about 8 mm height) and this ring will hold the focus mount.

The focus mount will be screwed into the ring and front plate with M2 screws. To fit them into the mount, the holes had to be made a bit elliptical with a tilted drill:
