Thank goodness. The DTs were setting in. Thought I'd have to go to a clinic.

Yeah, glad it's back. I've gotten in the habit of checking it frequently enough that it was a real downer not to read it. I check RFF more often than I check Facebook, or G+.

Glad to see you back at last. The site still seems to be running more slowly than usual. You have been missed!

It's back but it's not happy!

I keep getting pages timing out and actually got the dreaded 'white page of death' there for a half hour or so!

Fingers crossed.

Yeah, it got bog slow, then disappeared. I was posting a new thread in the Critique section, and things seemed to stop right in the middle, so I started the posting again, and then the whole site went down. When it came back up, I found it posted twice, so I deleted the second one.

Hope that doesn't happen here.

PF

Welcome back, though slowly... Might worth considering to host the system in a virtual machine so then it won't be so severely affected by hardware failure.

Clicking my favorites link that normally takes me to the main page, brought up the "RFF is having problems" notice just about 10 to 15 minutes ago.

Are we staying with this ISP after all this grief? What about going back to where we were? (Could be a good subject for a poll.)

This message is still up as of the time of this posting. I have to get in through Google.

Yes, VERY slow loading, especially for the first page. Probably too many of us RFF addicts.

I'm also amazed at how long recovery has taken. I've run web servers in a university environment. I can't imagine how a large company with multiple servers servers and RAID could be down for too long, unless the problem was with connectivity to the outside.

Oh well, I, for one, realize how much I like RFF, and will help support the site, if called upon.

Thanks Stephen - what a mess. One felt like an addict being told to go "cold Turkey" - tried the Forum at least 2-3 times a day - to no avail.
Hope it will stay put now - it is too stressful to comprehend another 'crash"
However, got a lot of film developed and scanned, read several books, dis-mantled a F3 to find out why the meter circuit was acting up - but none of that matters without the RFf- fix!

You probably just have that page in your local cache. Delete your cache and you should get the regular site no problem.

I my name is Ken and I'm a RFF-aholic. The DT's were getting pretty scarey there. Thanks for getting me my fix!
