Question Are there any ZOOOOM lenses to fit LTM or M?

Hi, All,

Do any of you know of any Zooooom lenses that can fit in an M or LTM camera..perhaps via adapter?

I know Leica has a nifty one for about $5k... Oy! So now I'm made of money?

Granted, there are the image and f-stop issues of a zoooom, and coupling and frameline thang...but I Am Curious (Yellow).

Robt.

There's the Tri-Elmar, which isn't a true zoom - rather a multi focal length lens.

I think what you're looking for is an SLR.

Perhaps modified Zeiss 35~70mm f/3.5-5.6 Vario-Sonnar for Contax G.
You can ask http://www.japanexposures.com/ for modification.

As far as I know there are three multi focal length lenses for Leica M.
- Leica Tri-Elmar 28-35-50
- Leica Tri-Elmar 16-18-21
- Konica Hexanon 21-35

Even if you could get the focusing working with some 3rd party lens - how would you frame your shot? You would need some external zooming finder.

Just get some nice small SLR if you need/want a zoom lens.

Contax Aria with a Zeiss C/Y 35-70/3.4 ! That would be the ticket!

The WA-TE is a true zoom lens, isn't it?

Maybe, but why? I equate that with having a nice camera that can make phone calls and is also a really neat pocket knife with a screwdriver assortment. How about a really nice rangefinder camera AND a SLR with a zoom lens for under $5,000? Maybe some left over for a phone, a pocket knife, and a screw driver set?
