And...we're back

That was painful. And on a Saturday, too.

I tried all day and finally about two minutes ago saw we were indeed back! But all was not lost because it gave me a chance to do other things besides RFF. It was good day off.

I went to lunch with the wife...found a great deli and had a pastrami sandwich that was near perfection...then to Costco...when we got back to the car I saw she had a nail in the rear tire...headed across the street and got that fixed...so all in all I actually got some things accomplished today...

Even before this happened I was wondering about something related to this and some recent posts on how to back up your photos and how long they'll last etc. I am catching a plane later in the week with my wife, an unusual event for us, and I am checking my will is all in order (two children.) So the question is what are the succession plans for this site? It is such a fantastic community and resource. Is its continuation assured?

It's a quarter to 4:00 and I'm finally in! Hopefully the technical difficulties are behind us.

Glad things are back.

I rebuilt a 1934 Sonnar 5cm F1.5. 3 hours- was really dirty, cleaned up amazingly well. Will do a thread on it. Later...

Time for bed.

RFF was down while the software was being moved to new servers.

I actually took some photos late this afternoon
Really, Saturdays are--when I am home in Cortland--given to my mom: I take to do her shopping and then help her out with stuff around her place.
But YES, I am very happy to see that we are back and the server migration went well!

After the initial shock had worn off (it was as if I'd gone to my favourite coffee shop and found the premises boarded up) I realised I suffer from an RFF addiction. The nearest therapist was the art gallery - The Mad Square: Modernity in German Art 1910-1937 exhibition was about to close and I'm so glad I caught it: prints by Moholy-Nagy, August Sander, Wolfgang Sievers, E O Hoppe, Hugo Erfurth and many more, as well as fabulous paintings, drawings, lithographs and sculpture. Thanks guys!
