Take-up spool

I'm taking delivery of my first ever Leica next week, a IIIF BD. The problem I have is it won't have a take-up spool. Would it be possible to use one from an early Fed or Zorki? Failing that does anyone know where I could pick one up at a reasonable price? I have tried ebay. I'm in the UK by the way.

Cheers!

Try contacting a Leica repair shop in the UK. Good luck!

I think the Fed/Zorki spools will work. Try Fedka dot com as he is a reliable supplier and may have some. Good Luck. Joe

I've bought several FED\Zorki spools before. Only one of them could fit in my Leica.
Strangely enough, it also fits my brother's Canon IVSB.

I ended up buying a replacement from CRR, which fits fine in the Leica...but does not fit the Canon IVSB!

Most of the well known dealers or repairers should have one. I'd try Malcolm Taylor first. Or get a FED/Zorki one without the extending centre piece. There's a thread about them somewhere.

EDIT: Try this thread: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/foru...43#post1736843

Thank you all for the advice. I have tried to contact Malcolm Taylor using this address: malcolmtaylor000@btconnect.com . Anyone know if that's the correct email for him? I have received no reply as yet.

Cheers

Last time I asked Malcolm said he doesn't use email or the internet. Best to try phoning him.

Hi,

Yes, that's his number; I should have mentioned it.
