Roger Hicks -- Author of The Rangefinder Book

Roger Hicks is a well known photographic writer, author of The Rangefinder Book, over three dozen other photographic books, and a frequent contributor to Shutterbug and Amateur Photographer. Unusually in today's photographic world, most of his camera reviews are film cameras, especially rangefinders. See www.rogerandfrances.com for further background (Frances is his wife Frances Schultz, acknowledged darkroom addict and fellow Shutterbug contributor) .

Actually, I did suggest photographic...

But I've just noticed another smell that is very photographic indeed: the smell of the old Vulcanite on my 1936 IIIa when it gets warm.

I just had this lovely image of RFF members assiduously sniffing their gear...

Cheers,

R.

Oh, we're pretty versatile on RFF. Most of us can probably sniff and boggle at the same time!

The thread originated, as I say, with hot lights (and as another said, roast flies) but when I picked up the IIIa, the image of people sniffing just came to me...

Cheers,

R.

Thanx for that Roger, been feeling a bit lo recently after losing a close friend, but trust RFF to help pull me up, had a good chuckle at the thought of all those RFF `sniffers`
