Moskva 5 rangefinder alignment

Hi, first post here. Great forums!

I have a Moskva 5, and I've been trying to get the rangefinder aligned correctly, horizontally and vertically. (btw, I've also posted these questions over at photo.net.)

Anyway, I'm looking for tips on how to get things aligned again. I followed the instructions (pretty much) from this site: http://www.dantestella.com/technical/superfix.html

...and it's getting there. I corrected the diagonally-moving rangefinder image, but the split images still do not quite line up vertically. Pretty close, but not quite. So, what I am assuming is that the beamsplitter (whatever that is) needs to be adjusted... is this something for mere mortals to attempt? Anyone ever done it?

Also, I'm assuming that since the images are moving in parallel, no further adjustments to the RF arm and prisms are necessary. Correct?

thanks for any and all help!
