Do you cover the Red Dot ???

Just curious. When I'm out street-shootin' with my Signet 35, I'm constantly being stopped by strangers sayin' "is that a Kodak?," "looks expensive-- was it made in Rochester?," "does it have f-stops?," or "is that a cast-aluminum body?". Naturally, I can barely capture les bontemps with such interruptions.

I figure many of you have already dealt with this, what with the cult-like popularity of Signet 35's on this forum.

So, what do YOU do when shootin' Signet 35?

A: I always cover the Kodak Red Dot with gaffer's tape. When I'm shootin' street, I don't need the notoriety.

B: I commissioned Tiffany to create a black Kodak dot to replace the red. Much more stealthy, and yet still genteel.

C: Yeah Baby! It's a Kodak! In yo' face, Argus shooters!

The Palace theater in Childress, Texas. Of course the streets in Childress were packed when I took this, but because it was dark, I didn't need to cover the Red Kodak Dot:

The Palace is currently being renovated, to accommodate larger audiences for touring Broadway productions.

A guy I know called "Avery" makes red stickers which are about 1/2 inch round.

I'm gonna stick 'em on some of my cameras so's I can cover them up with black tape.

No, I damned well don't have any of them hoity Signets!

There's no "No" (or "Meh") option, so I couldn't vote.

Fellow RFF member: I respect your bandwidth by not posting images larger than 800px on the longest side, and by removing image in a quote.
Together we can combat bandwidth waste (and image scrolling).

It's a shame that I can't add the "Meh" option to the poll. Even more of a shame, since Gabriel's Red Dot glows.

More to the point, what kind of bicycle do discriminating Signet 35 users like pedalling?

What kind of mustard do Signet 35 users put on their sandwiches?

What zodiacal signs are most common with Signet 35 shooters?

And on and interminably on....

yeah, i've been pondering what sort of man-bag to purchase for a kodak signet 35 if I'm ever fortunate enough to find and afford a nice working one. Seriously though, I would love to see some images from the Signet35 with that Ektar lens. I can't see any on this thread. If it's as good as the Ektar on the Retina 1a, it's a very good lens. And the camera is supposed to be very rugged and simple to work on. I've bid on a couple in the past and lost. I guess thinking $50 was too much... but that's about what they're fetching these last few weeks.
