8.5cm f/2 Lens Hood..

Hi all,

Does anyone know where, or better yet, if it's possible to find either the black snap-in or chrome screw-in hoods for under $100? I see both are on Keh for over $140, but I can't bring myself to spend that much for just a hood..

Thanks for your help!

If you can't find something on eBay, I would just get a generic 48mm screw-in (I think black looks fine on the chrome lenses).

Go with the generic hood for 48mm.

The original chrome two-piece hood also doubles as a Series VII filter holder.

Thanks everyone.. I was hoping for the Nikon hood, but I guess I'll just go with the generic

In that case- you are best to look for a lens with the hood, in a less popular mount. I bought mine on a mint condition Contax mount 8.5cm f2, total of $300. A lot of times the difference in price between the lens, and those with hood and case are very little. You could sell the lens and keep the hood to offset the cost. "Patience".

Ahh, great idea. I'll just have to keep looking and learn what this "Patience" thing you speak of is.. Thanks again

Also, the Canon LTM 85/2 and 85/1.9 lenses have 48mm filter rings. It's generally much easier and cheaper to find one of the Canon hoods that fit.
