M mount to md mount adapter, does it exist?

Hi
Didn't quite know where to put this, so i posted it here.
I am so lucky to have a 90mm f/4 Elmar-C and a 40mm f/2 Summicron-C lying around. I also have a Leica CL, but the meter is broken and the sealings needs to be replaced.

I usually shoot with my Minolta XG, and i would very much like to use the 90mm and 40mm on it, but does such an adapter exist?

I've not seen nor heard of one but Minolta did make an adapter to mount Leica screw mount lens onto the Minolta manual focus bodies..

I highly doubt that such an adapter is made. Adapting rangefinder lenses to SLR cameras is very dubious as you can only use them at extreme close range because of flange distances. I once years ago saw a Nikon adapter where you could use M or LTM mount lenses on it however I have never seen one since.

Hi,

Based on my bitter experience of adapters made after the camera maker has disappeared, I'd guess you might find it cheaper to get the CL mended. And use the SLR along side of it. That's the best of both worlds.

Also the flange to film distance is going to cause problems, even if the optics remove from the lenses, as Leica lenses often do.

Regards, David

I do not have M-MD adapter, but an M39-MD adapter made by Minolta and can not recommend it.

Because of the larger flange distance of the MD mount, its as if the M/M39 lenses had a macro tube. You lose infinity focus, heck, you can't even focus past 2m.

Want to swap the Summicron for a Rokkor 58mm F1.2?
