Fish Market in Tinh Gia, Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam

In this market, people have to wake up in early morning, about 4am to wait for fishing boats coming home.
The wage is pretty low, about $3/day or let say $80/month, very tough lives.
Give me your thought, all comments appreciated.
Gears: Leica M6 + 35/2 IV + Tri-X pushed 1600, dev in HC-110 16mins@20C

Thanks,
Trung

Nice series..but seems like there is a little under exposure here??...which result in the pale contrast in #10-11....but its realli a nice series

Nice, but better check your light meter! Pics are too dark.

Yes, I was going to say that I agree some of the photos seem under-exposed.

Still, excellent work. I also really like #4.

Cool stuff. One of these days I have to make it to Vietnam. Had a friend who went there, told me it's a must-see.

Trung, you need a faster glass
No, just kidding.

A glimpse of hard-life always saddens and warm me at the same time. But it reminds me to be content with what I have. Such is a power of photography.

Thank you, Trung.

Thank you all for positive feedbacks. For all who haven't got chance to visit Vietnam, absolutely it's a must see destination. Do not hesitate to drop me a message when you visit there, I am based in Hanoi.

Fabulous - you have really captured the dark brooding spirit that is the essence of Vietnam. I just returned from Ha Noi two days ago.

Nice work, I especially like 4 and 5. They do seem dark, but it could also be the monitor you're working on. Vietnam is just a lovely country, I visited last fall and had a great time photographing. There are some countries that are just treats to visit and photograph, Vietnam is one, Turkey is another. Could go back again and again. You've got some nice work here and it reminds me of a book I just got as a gift, by Ara Guler, famous Turkish photojournalist, about an armenian fishing community in istanbul. I know, half a world and over half a century away, but people of the sea often have much in common. Nice documentary work!

No place is boring, if you've had a good night's sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film. ~Robert Adams, Darkroom & Creative Camera Techniques, May 1995 (I suppose that should now read: "and have a full battery and an empty memory card." Though that sounds so dull.

I personally like the second set better.
Closer interaction with people and their expressions. Good work.
