Voigtlander should make a digital full frame RF and sell it for $1000.

Well, I heard that the FF digital Voigtlander Rangefinder is sorely lacking in build quality. How would it ever survive the hard use it will surely endure as I photograph my cat parked on the sofa?!?!

We all know that kodak, Leica, Zeiss, Hasselblad, Fuji, Cosina, Nikon, Canon, Pentax and Sony all have large numbers of their staff constantly checking the buzz on the rangefinder and other arcane photographic communities in order to stay ahead of each other and create the products we want.
That's why Nikon is building a full frame digital SP complete with manual shutter cocking and original titanium shutter blinds taken from F bodies (this is of course the reason why so few Nikon F's have been for sale lately, the home office is buying them up.)
I heard from a friend of mine that they are releasing a 40th anniversary F2-AS-D. An F2, with a DP-12 finder and full frame digital sensor.
Also, Kodak is bringing back Panatomic X as their flagship black and white film.
This is the whole reason we all complain so much! They are finally listening to us and what this incredibly small sector of the photographic market wants to use. They'd be crazy not to listen!
Good times.

You sure? I heard, it will have weather stealing and will have a higher res sensor than the M9-P!
Should I sell my new M9 and wait for the Voigtlander digital or should I sell the M9, buy a M9-P now and wait for the Voigtlander, reducing my shutter count to the minimum, to retain a better resale value for the Leica, when the Voigtlander is introduced at Photokina?
I can't find any previews for the life of it about the new Voigtlander … WHAT IS GOING ON?

Well yes I'd buy it too, but the noise at XXXXXXX-ISO is a real deal breaker for me ....

I'd buy the CV FF digital M-mount RF for a $1000, if all the buttons can be moved around physically and configured to my taste. Has a bright .50-1.0 zoom 100% coverage VF. Has parallax corrected pop-up framlines for 12, 15, 21, 25, 28, 35, 40, 50, 75, 90 and 135mm lenses. TTL metering, centre weighted, matrix and configurable spot. VF information is fully configurable, including posiibility for DoF scale, f-stops and shutter speeds - no matter the lens. The sensor is interchangeable, and first version is B+W sensitive only, built in ND and IR filters. Has 40Mpix, choice of 1:1, 3:2 and 4:3 formats, dynamic range of 15 stops, and no visible noise up to ISO 102400, adaptive microlenses for auto lens distortion corrections. 3.5" 2Mpix LCD. Works without a battery at all speeds. And a manual lever wind!

Zeiss will be unveiling their 18MP Full-frame DigIkon , together with new range of 6-bit coding on their lenses. Alternatively, you can manually select in-camera for the ZM lenses. It will have a 2.5" Gorilla Glass LCD display.
Available in Steel Black or Silver Paint.
Gee...where did i see these specs before?

I think that you may want to double-check your sources. The version that you are referring to is the "prosumer" model that has 12 gb of built-in memory with pre-loaded cat images. This camera is intended to remain tethered to a computer so that the user can quickly and conveniently post cat photos to their internet forum of choice.
An all-metal "pro" version of this camera, intended for physical use, is still under product development. Apparently, to increase the write speed to the buffer, they are unable to include a full 12 gb of built-in cat images, which is totally unacceptable to the Voigtlander marketing folks. However, they hope to have this "cat"alogue issue resolved soon, so that the pro version may be released no later than six months from the introduction of the prosumer model.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

The Russians are coming out with a digital rangefinder. True story. *nods*
Better not use the slow shutter speeds.

Menos, I think you've hit on a GREAT idea here!! In order to help our fellow photogs reduce shutter count to minimum, let's start a camera leasing business. When cameras are returned with shutter counts in excess of, say, 500, leasee pays big bucks. :-)
