This lens is disgustingly sharp wide open. I have sold every other lens I own, but this one. It's that good.

So what makes this lens so especially sharp? Special glass? Modern design combined with slow speed? Magic?

It's a true Planar design (6 elements in four groups.) If you wanna shoot it I can let you borrow it. I have no idea what makes it so sharp though.
