Wow pretty amazing that there are so few comments on the passing of a person that in large part started a massive change in photography. Fully agree with Bill58.

I heard an NPR story on Boyle a couple weeks ago, and the story took me back to fifth grade, when I read Danny Dunn and the Heat Ray, which was a kid-fi book about the recently invented ruby laser. I was hooked by that, and immediately researched everything I could about lasers, and discovered that it's inventor was the very same Dr. Boyle.
