Leica IIc and Elmar 50mm /3.5 repair plug

A while ago I posted here about repairing my Elmar 50mm F/3.5 uncoated. I had purchased a Leica IIC at the same time as purchasing the lens.

The past month the Elmar has been with John Van Stelten of Focal Point, CO and the IIC has been at Essex Camera in NJ. Both pieces returned in beautiful condition, everything working as I imagine they might have new. I only took a few snaps with the lens but the contrast has "improved" considerably and the body no longer exposes film unevenly at higher shutter speeds. The shutter sounds completely different and the viewfinder and rangefinder perform so much better than when sent out..

I've used both repair shops multiple times for Leica screw mount equipment, just thought I'd let everyone know that both did an excellent job once again.

Leica II, complete with large smudge on Elmar

Taken with Leica IIC, uncoated Elmar cleaned by Focal Point tri-x @ 400 d76
