Recommended 50mm thread mount

Since there is no Leica LTM forum, I'll post my question here:

Which screw mount 50mm Leica lens would you recommend? Deciding factors include:

Price
Must be f2.8 or faster
Produces images with that "Leica glow"

Some users feel that the 50mm Summitar produces a particularly pleasant "Leica Glow".

For wide open sharpness, though, the LTM Summicrons will be the better performers. If wide open sharpness is most important to you, the current CV f1.5/50mm Nokton, by my testing, easily outperforms the vintage Leitz lenses.

Time to start a Leica LTM forumhere, IMHO (maybe we have done just that).

Either that, or Jorge changes the title of this one by dropping the M.

Was there a Summarit TM? Based on what I've seen... Let's hope znaps adds his wisdom to this thread.

The Summarit, which evidently is a Xenon with lens element coating, appeared before the advent of the M-series Leicas.
