Anybody knows why the outlook changed? OEM version?
Anyway I don't mind to take several tens, save my labor in rolling myself.

OK ... so not only do we have Fuji dumping film as Legacy Pro, Kodak as Arista Premium ... now 36 exp rolls of HP5+ are going for less than $2.50 per roll.

Quality film bodies seem to have hit a recent high with Leica M's going steadily upwards!

I'm confused! Is this some new era we're entering where nobody seems to be buying enough film (hence the discounting) but they're happy to pay premium prices for the devices that use it ... WTF!

Hp6?

Good deal, hopefully a Canadian dealer puts out some prices like this, freestyle shipping to Canada is a little high if you don't buy a lot of film.

Maybe they're upgrading the formula? Hp6- here we come! (doesn't have the same ring to it does it)

I don't see any such special at Adorama. May be I am blind, or can't look for it properly?

It wasn't listed under the specials tab, it was in the film listings.

Could be completely off base here, but maybe with today's lower demand for film the cost of the film itself, raw material and such, might now be only a very small part of the overall production cost in relationship to other costs such as employees salary, benefits, power ext. So they've simply decided that instead of worrying about maxing X amount on each roll to focus on overall profits.
Example if I can make a Widget for $1. and sell 100 for $2.00 each but can sell 1000 at $1.35 I end up with an increased over profit of $250 based of course on the other related cost remaining the same.

Its still worth it. On a $150 order, shipping came to 20%. Given that Canada Customs never seems to assess the tax we would pay at home, the shipping isn't much of a premium, especially considering that our dollar is at a high. If you need to push up the dollar value of your order, buy some Kodak Portra.

Oh yeah for $150 it would be a better deal forsure, even for 2 100' rolls of anything it would be worth it, I'm trying to decide between tri-x and hp5+ right now though, and being a student I don't have much time for developing (but somehow I make time to write silly posts like this one). So hopefully the sale lasts a while. Once I develope the 10 or 15 rolls sitting the fridge right now I should be able to make a decent decision on which to buy and at that price it might be easier to buy it pre-rolled if hp5+ than bulk if it wins out

For this deal to be happening Ilford has to have an excess of raw stock of this film IMO. It doesn't suprise me that Kodak and Fuji were happy to unload their excess any way they could but it's an unusual move for Ilford I think.

At Vanbar, who are one of Australia's largest on line photography suppliers, this film is listed at $12.10 per roll!

I'm very tempted to get fifty of these two packs because as much as I've never really been a huge fan of HP5+ at box speed I think it's the best 400 black and white film around pushed to 1600.

And at 800 in Rodinal 1:25 it is magnificent.

The price of silver has gone up significantly recently.

You should duck, after a crack like that. HP5+ is my second-favorite 400-speed film, bettered only by 2TMY.

To anybody who's recently purchased one of these 2-packs from Freestyle: can you please post the expiration date?

I'm beginning to think I should give HP5 another chance. When I first tried it I was new into developing my own black and white film and because I wasn't totally happy with the results blamed the film ... like any sensible newbie!

This current price is the same or there abouts as Arista Premium ... very hard to go past. I have some other stuff to order from Freestyle so why not ... I'll give it another go!

What a great price... between Tri-X and HP5+ ...it's six of one, half dozen of the other for me. I like both. But the one plus for HP5+ is it dries flat, flat, flat.... unlike the serious curl that Tri-X or Arista Prem gives me.
