Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

I've noticed a spike in the number of M9s being offered for sale on the Toronto Craigslist recently (4 or 5 listed in the last few days) and all are in and around the new price - (low of $6560 to a high of $6999).

Still much too rich for my wallet but I'll continue to track prices until they become more affordable. What are used one's are going for in other locations.

M9's are still scarce and new enough that the used market doesn't need to drop its price drastically. I imagine a heavily used one would easily go for $5k. While barely used would fetch a few hundred below new.

I got mine as a store demo unit, 1 year warranty, in the mid-$5K.

I don't recommend buying without warranty.

Nothing in my neck of the woods.

I mean, no used M9 in my town, and big city nearby (Chicago).

I'd be surprised if there were more than 10 M9 bodies in Vermont total, let alone any available used...

In the UK the cheapest I've seen a used one advertised for is just under £4,000.

I've seen a guy near me on Craigslist listing one for $4k or so. Incredibly cheap for an M9, but I don't have 4k to spend on a camera, so it's immaterial whether he's for real or not.

There is (was?) one at a local shop for $5500 USD. Had some cosmetic issues, but not bad at all.

this is certainly true and the market for used lenses seems to continue to set new heights...

i got my 35'cron v3 for $600 three or four years ago and my 50'cron (current) for $700-750 less than two years ago and from what I've seen prices have gone up at last 35% and nearing 50% on the 35/cron.

I think we can thank the digital Ms for the rise in the used lens market.

Top one from copy and paste description (look at lens stuff..what's that about) definitely dodgy. Next one says new..too good to be true.
