just souped my first roll. woot!

I just have to tell someone, as it's Valentine's day and my wife doesn't seem that interested that I finally got around to developing and scanning my own black and white film. I've been taking it to a local shop for a long while now, and it nearly always comes back full of dust, scratches, watermarks, etc... Now I have no one else but myself to blame for the same results!

Here's a couple of shots. They aren't too exciting - just some local monkeys in the park - except for the fact that I had more of a hand in making them than previously.

Thanks for humouring me by bothering to read!

Andrew

Congratulations! And yes, the significance of this act is sometimes lost on others... :-) Still, you picked an interesting day to "declare your love to film" ;-)
Keep it up, and enjoy it!
All the best, Ljós

Andrew,

Congratulations!
Isn't it nice to make something with your hands?

Now put a roll in and take your wife's portraits. Maybe she'll be more interested when you developed it

I mostly shoot TMY, so when I went down to the shop to pick up all the gear, it was suggested I use T-Max dev at 1+4... so it's TMY with T-Max dev at 1+4 for 6:45, then Ilford stop and fix.

All shots were from my trusty Zeiss Ikon with the ZM 50mm C Sonnar.

The scans are just meant to be a quick proof, as I won't be printing from them, so they're just straight from the scanner. I hope to set up a dark room for printing soon.

Brilliant - I remember the buzz I got from the images on my first roll. But be warned - five years and a couple of hundred rolls later and I'm still addicted to it. Life may never be the same again !

Enjoy ....

Nice.. Wait until you actually start printing. You'll be amazed at how standing in one place for 2 hours can be so much fun.
