Sail 2005 & a Zeiss Ikon 524/2

Hi

Here are the shots from the first roll of film through my newly acquired Zeiss Ikon 524/2. For those not familiar with these, this is a 6x9 folder with an uncoupled rangefinder. Mine has the Novar lens, and judging by the negatives, it is quite an impressive performer.

The camera itself is in absolutely gorgeous condition, as is the never ready case. It is a little more ergonomic than the Moskva 5 (which has a coupled RF) and I suspect would be a little easier to handhold. It is also somewhat lighter, being the lightest of the three 6x9 folders I have.

I experimented with a couple of the shots by duotoning them. I'm not sure whether I like the original versions or the duotoned versions, so I'd appreciate your comments on which you prefer and why.

See http://www.rangefinderforum.com/phot...y.php?cat=5247 for the shots.

Tech details: TriX @ 400, Rodinal 1+100 for 20 minutes and scanned on an Epson 3170.

Paul

Nothing wrong with that Novar lens Paul, sharp it is. Personally I like the B&W pictures more or just a slight nip of Duotone.
Seeing your pics reminds me of starting to devellop my films myself as wel.

Yeah, looks nice
If you aint pushin' that triX you might want to try developping it a little finer in different soup though, although 1+100 dilution will make up for a lot
I happe to quite like your duotones too
