is this the 40mm version? From Looking around i garnered that it is one of the nicest enlarging lenses around....or not around in the sense that they seem to be hard to come by..... if it is the enlarging lens that i think it is and you ever want to get rid of it let me know

I know nothing of this from personal experience but have read that it is considered one of the best enlarging lenses available for certain ranges of magnification. I don't imagine it will be of much use to most people. Some have adapted this kind of lens (60/4 S-Orthoplanar for eg.) for macro use, but it looks like a difficult procedure and unfriendly in usage anyway. However, let me warn you that this lens is worth a lot of money. Do a search on the bay and find out for yourself.

5.6 / 40 ? It should be an enlarging lens, for 35mm I think. I've got a 4.5 / 45 (not from Zeiss though) and it seems to match with the focal / aperture of yours, Rainer
