Gallery picks for the week ending 10th January 2011

Gallery Picks is an opportunity for you to post a heads up to what you have seen during the past seven days at RFF that you like.
There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos mentioned, and everybody mentioned is a winner.

Anybody can start the thread on a Monday.

Anybody can join in, it's a community event!

Here is what I especially liked this week:

rob-vince, with evidence of the number of comments, this shot is spectacular in every way. A real work of art.

chris000, another landscape excellent for its composition, misty tones, and reflections.

Tuna, with this I like the crop, and luscious silvery tones and details.

Carlos M, a common enough sight but captured in a way that it would make a nice "large" print to hang on a wall.

furcafe, a unique and interesting shot of a commonly photographed subject. I like the "other-worldly" look of ascending into the open air and the out of context umbrella.

randomm, nice light that conveys the mood of waiting, that and the composition pull that off really well.

paulfish4570, an interesting perspective with selective focus, tones, and composition that adds the tension of wondering what the subject of interest might be.

snausages, perhaps my favorite of the week. If you like photos, then this one says all that needs to be said within the image itself.

enlo night walk

Like the placement of the person slightly off center and the darker foreground and well lit background.
