Business / Philosophy of Photography Taking pics is one thing, but understanding why we take them, what they mean, what they are best used for, how they effect our reality -- all of these and more are important issues of the Philosophy of Photography. One of the best authors on the subject is Susan Sontag in her book "On Photography."

Views at my smugmug website

smugmug is where I save my photos. I use many lenses, and I am curious which image files are viewed the most by visitors to my website.

For the period March 20, 2016-March 19.2017: (files with more than 2000 views)

Name

Germany 2016 iPhone 6......... 28365

A better statistic may be to divide each number of views by the number of images per file. The Hasselblad SWC comes out as one of the top interest points here. So did the Pentax M 50/1.4 and the Nokton 50/1.5. The top files were travel related, with many images in them.

Such data based mainly on RFF members shows me which lenses get many views. It may reflect the interest level by users of certain lenses or maybe by members who are considering buying such lenses.

Thanks for the interest!

Hi Dave,
I breathe statistics!
When the news from violence in Syria filled the news (for a while), the number of views of my Syria image folder also went up.
