IKEA Cardboard Camera
IKEA designed a point and shoot cardboard digital camera as a promotional item. I'd really like to try one. Seems silly but fun.
VIDEO HERE
Anyone one here lucky enough to get one of them? :P

I'm hoping they decide to release these in store. Seems fun for some reason.

Seems like a lot of fun, definitely hoping they sell then instore, would pick up a bunch of them. Been missing something like a simple fixed focus point and shoot with no lcd for a while, seems even the cheap cameras have pretensions these days, what with lcds and zoom lenses..

They have an intented use for the camera. They want people to upload pictures of their IKeA furnished interiors as inspiration to other IKEA customers or would be customers. A sort of IKEAbook. That's why it has an SD card type interface plug protruding from one corner.
Its called Knäppa (pronounced knheppah), which means to button, or slang to push a button or shoot. I.e P&S in its simplest form.

No, not as such. It will given away to selected customers, a limited run - that´s if this page can be trusted: http://www.gizmag.com/ikea-knappa-ca...-camera/22338/

Right - and "knäppa" is at the same time close to "knäpp", a popular term for being crazy... So it is fitting name, in a charming way.
Greetings, Ljós

Bought one a few days ago on eBay, should be getting (hopefully) soon. But it has to ship from Sweeden so who knows how long it will take. Can't wait to do a write up on it!
Also, bought two domains and made another website:
www.knappagraphy.com
www.ikeaknappa.com
They both lead to the same place! But I encourage you to sign up! There isn't much on there now as it just went live a little while ago. But expect to see a lot of new stuff soon

That was pretty brilliant of you sir.
I saw a review on this that made it appear as though this camera is really like a digi-holga minus the high res of medium format film. It's a sort of pinhole digital that really needs a steady hand to make it work well. I anticipate a whole new chic season of knappagraphers to sweep in soon.

Where did you see the review? I'd love to check it out!

Haha I know, eBay says 21-30 business days! They're usually way off but we'll see. It's been about a week since it shipped.

An optical viewfinder! Limited capacity! No LCD!
This camera will force you to think and compose before shooting.
Seems more useful than most of the point and shoots!

There are a few, if you look up the one review for it out there the shooter posted 5 or so images from it.
I'll be posting a ton when I get it tho
