Which is which and which is the sharpest, Noctilux f/1, Noctilux f/0.95, Nokton f/1.1 at f/5.6? Focused on the house.
I personally think one of them is clearly sharper than the other two, if I cared.

#2

#3

For reference, here is the same shot on other 50mm, all at f/5.6:

Summilux f/1.4 ASPH
Nokton f/1.5 ASPH
Summarit f/1.5
Rigid Summicron f/2
Elmar-M f/2.8

0.95, 1, 1.1 (but the first and third are very close, as they should be); if you didn't use a tripod or have a worse Nokton copy than me, all bets are off. Click for enlargement:

Why would you not care and run around in the snow with US 11k in lenses ? Seriously, though, fun comparison.

This is very interesting, mostly because the center tells a quite different story. Yes, I used a tripod and I think my Nokton is a good copy, we will see.

And I don't care much about sharpness, but I think these kinds of comparisons are fun. I like that photographers are much more willing to put on the line in blind tests than audiophiles are.

I voted f/0.95 f/1.0 f/1.1

Would be nice if the Apo Summicron f/2 was in the test, but that horrible price ...

Erik.

The lenses are in order #Noctilux f/0.95, Noctilux f/1, Nokton f/1.1#
I found the second one to be the sharpest at the center and the softest at the edges.

Easier than I thought it would be, almost easier than wide open.
I must admit though, Roland's side by side enlargements made it pretty obvious.
