First day shooting my "New" SP
Camera came in the mail Tuesday, took it out today, heavy overcast, low contrast day. My first reaction is I have got to get the rangefinder, and viewfinder cleaned, so it will be off to someone soon. Second reaction is how well made and solid the camera and lenses feel. Every bit as solid as my old IIIc, and M2. The reaction from people at the beach and on the pier was interesting, first that I was shooting film, and then that "A camera that old is so advanced" the latter from an artist working in charcoal. All in all a great afternoon, we will see how they came out after developing, and scanning.

I look forward to seeing the scans!
What lens/es are you using?
I still have yet to put a roll through my S3 2000 - only had it since before Christmas...
Regards,
Scott

"New" SP
Found it on eBay with an 2.8 cm f 3.5, 5 cm f1.4, and a mint 13.5 cm f 3.5, all black barreled Nikors. It also had a non working light meter, Steve at Cameraquest says that he is fixing the meters now so I may go that way just to keep it the way it was. All of the cases came with the lenses, camera and meter. For a fifty plus year old camera it is in remarkable shape, and it feels really good to be putting film thru it again after it came out of someone's closet.

Enjoy your SP. I got an S2 ... 50/1.4 black dial/black lens combo two weeks ago and am already addicted to it. I still love my M's and even my IIIf. While this is a different experience shooting, there is nothing about that isn't pleasant. While shooting almost 200 frames with my M8 over Memorial Day on a trip, I also shot three and half rolls in the Nikon. They are terrific tools.

Hi,
I just got a Nikon S2 with a 35mm f2.5 lens, I'm shooting my first roll
with it now, your right about the rangefinder, I cleaned it myself and it really
improved, it's just there's a lot of opened spaces in there so it gets filmy and
dusty, but once it done it's great.

Looks like several of us are currently trying out new Nikon RF bodies/lenses. Mine is a 'new' black S3 2000 with one of the 2007 50 f1.5 Sonnar C's that Zeiss/CV put into Nikon RF mounts. I've been shooting almost evereything at f1.5 to see how that might work.
I'm hoping to see links here to other people's experiments.

Enjoy the new toy! The SP is my favorite camera to use.. Mine goes literally everywhere with me (usually with the 5cm f/1.4)
