Olympus XA in "Killer Elite"
I watched Killer Elite last night. One of the main characters, played by Jason Statham, in the movie is using Olympus XA to record a proof of assassination , he just committed. And later him and Clive Owen fight over who is going to keep the XA. How cool is that?
And before that, another character was using Ricoh SLR for surveillance.
My hat is off to the director for not endorsing anything modern and for promoting old film cameras.

Yes, it was announced last March. It has all original design, 25Mp full frame censor, no LCD.
The only drawback: it kills film.

Watched that movie a few weeks ago and pulled out my XA to show my wife it was the same camera. Of course, I turned around and sold it this past weekend...

I got one from RFF Christmas Giveaway last December, but didn't like using it and gave it away to my neighbor's son, who really liked it.

Here's another XA cameo. During the wedding episode of the Royles british comedy show, I'm pretty sure that the grandmother is handling an XA. The show is worth it, by the way, even without the XA cameo

I just saw Killer Elite on blu-ray. I was so pleased and surprised to see the XA! But then, the movie was set several decades ago, so they had to use authentic props.
