Optics Theory - This forum is aimed towards the TECHNICAL side of photographic OPTICS THEORY. There will be some overlap by camera/manufacturer, but this forum is for the heavy duty tech discussions. This is NOT the place to discuss a specific lens or lens line, do that in the appropriate forum. This is the forum to discuss optics or lenses in general, to learn about the tech behind the lenses and images. IF you have a question about a specific lens, post it in the forum about that type of camera, NOT HERE.

Looks like we need another reminder...

Please remember to include lens information with your posted photo, as that's the main point of this thread... to link the OOF behavior with a specific lens. Aperture used is helpful too.

Some nice photos here, and interesting bokeh effects! Unfortunately, those without lens info will be deleted... Please keep this in mind for new posts, and if necessary return to your posted pics and add the needed data!

Doug

right! however Doug, as far back as I checked, within the last 7 pages, I have not found a single post / photo that does not state the lens used

That's because he's already deleted the posts. A simple pm would have done the trick.

Some cool stuff from rybolt and kuuan! This thread needs some more bokeh treatment, keep them coming folks!

Here's one with 13.5cm f3.5 Q Nippon Kogaku, wide open with Nikon Df.

Here's one using the Leitz Thambar 9cm f2.2 @f2.6 with the stop filter... ...interesting, even a little horrifying.
