A new forum section to haunt

Finally, I have a couple of 120 folder RF's. For some reason, I just had to stop by my favorite antique/junk store, and there was a pile of cameras on one of the shelves. Out of that pile came a 524/16 Ikonta B, and a 532/16 Super Ikonta B. Novar on the 524, Tessar on the 532. Both have shutter issues, but I think they are repairable. After messing around with the Nettar, it will be nice to have a rangefinder built in. Especially since it hurts my poor little brain converting meters to feet.

And, the 524 came in an Ansco case that looked showroom fresh. Can't wait to get them both in operating condition again.

Good luck getting those folders back into shape. I recently tried "fixing" my first folder, a Ikonta 523/16 and I messed it up pretty good. It was a dumb idea in retrospect since only the slow speeds were off. Oh well, be careful with any pliers!

Good luck with your cameras. Those old folders can take surprisingly great photos.

Noll, after overhauling my Agfa Karat 36, it will be a pleasure to go back to working on Prontor and Compur shutters.

herd, I've had an Ansco Viking 4.5 for a while now, but after making repairs to the bellows that didn't stick, I kind of retired it. There are about a dozen folders sitting around here of various makes, some of which I've shot (hate rerolling film for the Kodaks), and a couple are under repairs (Zeiss Ikomat 520, and an Ikonta 521/2 that took me forever to get a part for). But getting a rangefinder model has been my biggest quest, and I found two in one day. Once the shutters and lenses have been serviced, I plan on running a fair amount of film through them.

How messed up is it? Did you broken any parts? I have 1 Ikonta 523/16 that is very beat up. It is as good as for parts. The lenses seems in good condition to my surprise...
