Summicron 50mm (v4) Dust?

Hey everybody,

i have a 50'cron (v4) with a little problem.
There is "something" behind the front element (or somewhere else between the glasses, but in the front of the lens).
https://pickhost.eu/images/0005/2144/IMGP0003.JPG

It showed up from one day to another so i guess it's dust, but i'm not sure.

It doesen't affect the image quality at all, but i want to sell the lens and this particle reduces the price about 150€.

Can i clean it myself (dissasembling the front element?) or what should i do?

Thanks!

You CAN do it yourself, if you got the tools and the bollocks.

I'm just guessing;

Unscrew the retainer ring and use a suction cup to take out the front element. I'd imagine you'll reach the piece of dust since it looks like it's very very close to the surface. Make sure if any spacers come out that you put them in the correct order. Almost guaranteed that there is a spacer ring (or what ever they are called) sandwiched between the front lens element and the retainer ring (that has the name SUMMICRON-M and serial etc on it)

But you may want to send it to an expert if you want to sell it on, and not have it as your private lens and you haven't opened up lenses before, just because it's better to be safe than sorry and respect the future potential buyer.

Tap the lens to some soft things, or to your palm a few times or until it moves to a side. A particle from the side coatings of glass elements. You'll see it will move. It's harmless even if it won't move.
