How do you tell if someone's a Jew? In a way, it IS a lifestyle choice. Defending it is honourable. But you have to make the choice to reveal yourself as Jewish.

(This from someone whose Jewish friends fought London's fascists in the 1930s, when they were young men/boys. And who also had friends who were [Communist] Party members in the same era).

A camera is not creepy.
The people collecting specifically Nazi era cameras, yes, they slightly give me the creeps.
And even after what I said, I would find very difficult to casually use a camera with a clear German-Army related writing (unlike the one presented here).

It's distressingly easy if the victim is wearing the (very distinctive) uniform of London's largest Jewish school. Not that we were victims, I assure you. We had a substantial Israeli contingent, who were seldom backward in coming forward, and a fine example they set us!

Much as I share your pride, albeit vicariously, this further supports my argument that it is in fact a lifestyle choice, though in this case, a choice made as much (or more) by your parents as by yourself. At my old school, we had the compulsory 'daily corporate act of worship' (try explaining THAT to an American!). Jews (though not atheists) could opt out, and meet in the library instead, but not all chose to do so. With your name, you must surely be familiar with the lares et penates and the customary sacrifices.
