One hundred years ago people from the cost of the Basque Country lived hunting the wales. They used to row in a small boat and they hunt the whales near to our cost.

Nowadays, there is a sport that is a competition between diferent boats.

Today I have gone to the port with my family and we have seen one of these boats, coming from the sea. I have seen in my mind like it was a scene from one hundred of years ago...

I tried to catch the scene with my X100...

Lovely colours but somehow the composition doesn't quite gel for me, but great shot even so

Now I see what it might be, it's that dratted hill in the background. So much stronger if the blue went all tehw ay down - maybe.

Admittedly I was having a bit of a time with that antenna, and I did do a horizontal version of it without the antenna. Maybe that might be a better option. I do see what you mean about that hillside. Ah well, I'm very far away from it now!

I think the antenna is essential and for me the subject of the photograph!

I hope you don't feel offended but that sky is surely letting the rest of the image down? It doesn't look natural (even if it was) and just seems out of place.

I think I had the camera set to one of those funky colour settings (like 'Pop' or something), just to try it out. I adjusted the sky - not quite as over-the-top cyan now (actually in retrospect the whole upper third of the photo is a bit cyan). I'm traveling, so working on my laptop in a variety of conditions. I'm sure I'll have to make adjustments to all my photos once I'm back home.

One from yesterday, this scene caught my eye:

I really like the way the X100T renders b&w. Your shot above clearly illustrates it.

Almost makes me want to sell my Monochrom!

Thank you. I've been pleased about the black and white rendering, too. I don't know that I'd sell a Monochrome, if I had one, but you're not in a bad spot for black and white photography with the X100T.

Is that OOC? If yes, would you mind sharing your b&w settings with us?

The photo was processed in Capture 1 Pro 8. I made pretty heavy use of the the channel mixer. Out of curiosity, I played around a bit to see if I could get something similar by in camera raw processing. I wasn't really able to. the closest I could get was by using the b&w red filter:

sharpness: m hard
highlight: m soft
shadow: m hard
NR: lowest setting

It's difficult to replicate the effects of channel mixing after increasing the saturation in the colour file.
