My XA's yellow RF patch is very faint, I have started snapping XA pics based on Scale focusing. Here's a triptych. Roll #196, Tri-x, D76, 1+1 Dilution, ei 800 5mins at 28.5C.

These two shots were next to each other on the filmstrip, and I just thought they sort of went together. Not that I intended to shoot it like that, it's just what happened.

My sentiments match those of st3ph3mn. My favorite XA shots are those where I'm out in the elements and don't want to risk my fancier gear. This one is in Chesapeake Bay.

Mob81 - that's simply a stunning image regardless of the camera/lens combo - but from an XA? I would have thought, "No Way." How wonderful to be proved wrong.

awesome thread! I've got an XA in the mail at the moment, paid 25 eur for it. Judging from the really great shots here, we might become good friends. Will be my first rangefinder too, so if I can get along with the supposedly crappy VF/RF on this one, it's bye bye slr!

Actually, the supposedly crappy vf/rf is about the same as my Leica III. It's actually better because you only have to look through one peep hole instead of two.

But I zone focus the XA anyway so the rf part is irrelevant.

this one iirc was taken with shutter speed of 1/15 hand held, i don't think i can do that with (D)SLR..

Thanks tedwhite, I just saw your comment!
That image is cropped "the corners are soft!" and I think it might be the slide not perfectly flat! Though, I think it's the lens....as all the shots have the same issue and only with the XA!

By the way, it was my first Velvia!! What a wonderful film.

Olympus XA, Kodak Gold 200

A little different, but I still like this one and as we all know, there is no accounting for taste.
