Lens Hood Canon 25mm F/3.5

Does a Series 6 VI-A hood fit the 40mm filter thread size of the Canon 25mm f/3.5 lens?
It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.

Series 6 thread size (retaining rings, hoods, etc.) is approximately 44mm diameter.
Are we having fun yet?

I've read that the front element of the 25/3.5 is sufficiently set back as to not require a hood. Certainly with mine, I've never had a problem with flare due to not using one.

PS: Canon did not supply a hood for that reason.

Whether it fits the threads is secondary to will it vignette the lens. Check your field of view angles to see. But to answer your question, no, you need an adapter such as either the Canon one, or something like an Ednalite 617.

Waiting for the light

Here's a list with all the (late)Canon lenses and their lens-hood's -there's no lenshood mentioned for the 25mm...https://www.cameraquest.com/crflen.htm
