Olympus 35rc light meter problems

Hey everyone

Terrific forum here!
I have a problem with my olympus 35rc i got the camera to kind of function again the wires for the battery we're corroded and i solderd a new screw and battery lip and it seems to work however the lightmeter keeps getting stuck at f22 and if i try to press the shutterbutton fast it blocks at f8 without releasing the shuttercurtain
Is this just a matter of recalibrating? Or is there something just wrong
I looked sll over the forum and internet but it seems nobody has this problem if i press the shutter button slowly it will just stay at f22 and take the picture no matter wat light conditions
Anyone has a idea?

This may sound silly but it make sense to start with the simple things; is the aperture ring set to A? Is the film speed set correctly on the lens?

I love my 35RC though I tend to use it in manual mode now (too lazy to get a new battery when the first one died).

I had something similar problem with mine, but not the same. The auto lever under the viewfinder (with the top plate off) was hanging up. I fixed it with Graphite. Now I have another problem with the shutter not behaving properly so I'm getting unequal exposure across the frame. I'm about ready to give up.

I have just acquired a mint 35RC from our local Facebook selling page (my wife spotted it). On Saturday I took it into our friendly local camera shop to get a battery and some more film. They tested the meter to see if it was working, which it wasn't. They said that the coil wasn't dead, so said he thought it wasn't anything serious. When I have used up the film in it, it will go in for repair. Yes, I could just always use it on manual, but I like my cameras to work, especially as a) I paid buttons for it, and 2) it's a gorgeous little RF camera to carry around with me.

If you find a good repairperson let us know. Rick Oleson did mine last time, but he won't work on them anymore.

Thanks, I searched the internet for my shutter problem and only found one other person that had exactly the same problem. So it appears to be a rare problem. But at this time 35RC cameras are also rare. I'll contact him.
