A New Moderator to replace Me... ?

Time for me to move on in Life ...

Would like to pass on my Gold Star and 'Moderator' job
to a Passionate * Photographer * Enthusiast* Gearhead*
and if at all possible a woman here on RFf

So if any of the Ladies would like to give it a Go
Maggie
Shirley
Sara
Ornate Wrasse
anyone else I may have forgotten (apologies)

Otherwise I am sure there is a Man on RFf who can fill my place.
Please let Stephen know if You are Interested

Thank You ... It's been Fun

Cheers & Best - H

Do you have to be a computer whiz to be a mod? What do you have to know? HTML or machine language or something?

I've thought about it. Is it very fatiguing? Or hard?

Thank you, Helen. I'm assuming (hoping) you will continue to be a regular presence on this forum, right?

We should have a past and present RFF moderator meet up one day.

good luck to you miss H!
being a mod can be fun but it also can be work and tiresome and frustrating...and sometimes people dislike you just because you are a mod.
but if you're interested maybe try it for a short practicum and see how it 'fits' on you.

I have been one on another forum. It is a lot of fun but now and then not so. But the experience was worth it. (it was not a photo forum)

Forum moderation is sometimes a thankless task. Do it well and nobody will realise all the work that went into it. Take your eyes off the ball and all will notice your reduced presence.

Thanks for all the effort Helen!

Cheers,

I very much appreciate all you bring to this forum, Helen, and hope you hang around.

As for moderating, I know I don't have the temperament. All the best with the search.

Thanks for all your time, Helen. It's not fun being the enforcer. I learned that lesson over at Classic Camera Repair.

Perhaps a behind-the-scenes effort may yield better results in a search for a new moderator?

Hello New Yawk Girl ,
I trust you are just passing on the "mod. job" but not leaving RFF. It would be a lonelier place without you.
I'll try to make it to the NYC meet on the 28th. I hope to see you again.

I think that it's time some of the other mods thought about stepping aside actually and let some fresh blood move in. This is just my own opinion of course but I think for long term forum health it wouldn't be a bad move to freshen up that side of administration occasionally.

I am very flattered that my name was mentioned as a possible replacement for you. I have given it some thought and will be in touch with Steve. I used to be a moderator on an underwater photography forum.

Helen, I sure hope you don't leave RFF. I've enjoyed seeing another woman serving as a moderator. You add so much to the forum, it would be a real shame to not see your posts anymore.

"Thank you for your service" sounds so lame,
but I don't know of a better way to phrase it.
Good Luck Helen from the old guy in Maryland.

Anyways you are so much fun. The new ICP is my first time. The way things are going it looks like I will be eventually getting an Iphone and doing Instagram. LOL.

Much love.

Thanks for the job well done here.
