Peter, the main gallery lens list is moderated... Please post here what lenses you use that are not on the list, or PM me or another Mod, and the lens(es) will be added in a name-consistent way. Make sure to include the mount system for interchangeable lenses, and the specific camera if it's a fixed lens.

Once a lens is on the main list, you need to use the "My Menu" in the Gallery, choose "Lenses" and assemble your own personal list from the main list. Then, while you upload pics, you can use that personal list to identify the lens used for the group of pics or for individual pics.

A lot of the pics in the Gallery have not identified the camera and lens used... When included, this can be a valuable resource for searching later. I went back through my Gallery photos and made sure that info was added.

Tom, added Fuji X lenses
Fujinon 18mm f/2.0 XF R
Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 XF R
Fujinon 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro

Including full and accurate nomenclature in lens list requests would be helpful.

Thanks, Tom, appreciated... I think most of us are still learning about the new gallery. It seems useful to have more info there rather than less, for later searches. For instance, I saw in the forums that another member had just gotten an unusual camera that I also have. So I ran a gallery search for that camera and found only we two admit to uploading pics from that model.

Hi Doug,

Would it be possible to add ' Kodak Anastigmat 100mm f/7.7' to the list. It is the lens on my old No 1 Autographic Jr. The camera is listed but not the lens.

Thanks,
clay

Thanks Doug,

I checked the lens list before I saw your post and couldn't understand the '105mm' until I read further . Do you roll 120 film onto 620 spools to use your camera? I was very pleased when I realized that my old camera took 120 film.

cheers,
clay

Hi MiniMoke, could you specify the lens mount (if interchangeable) or the camera (if a fixed lens)... For example I'd guess the Elmar-C is M-mount... and is the 40mm Zuiko for the Pen D2 or for the OM SLR system?

Sorry Doug,

Of course the Elmar is M mount, and the Zuiko is in fact the lens of my trusty Trip 35.

Thanks a lot

Hi Doug,

Me again, I seem to have developed a liking for old folders . Could you please add Color-Skopar 50mm f/3.5 to the list. It is the lens of my beautiful Voigtlander Vito II.

thanks,
clay

Thanks Doug. However, I did notice that all the Voigtlander lenses have the '/' in the wrong place. It is before the 'f' rather than after it. Everyone's a critic .

Thankfully there is this thread now!
My suggestions to the lens DB.

Correction to type: Leica M
Please group all Leitz M mount lenses under one "Leica M" type, not as many as now. Or do I miss another reason having so many "Leica M" groups?

Correction to type: Leica LTM
Same as above

Please add lens to type: Leica M
Elmar 90mm f/4 (rigid)
Front label:
- Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar
- Elmar f=9cm 1:4 Nr.1291243

Thank you very much.

I have also images with SLR camera bodies. Do you add SLR lenses too, if I provide exact lens information?
Thanks for clarification.

Hi- The rigid Elmar added

I don't know why the lens types are broken up in the lists from which a member chooses them, a software matter I think.

Sure... You might look to see if your SLR lenses are already listed. There are a lot of Pentax and Nikon SLR lenses on the list, plus a few others.

Doug,
Thanks for doing this, having more lenses listed really helps searching the gallery for images.

There are a few micro 4/3 lenses that are not on the list.
Panasonic:
Lumix G VARIO 45 - 200 f/4 - 5.6
Lumix G VARIO 14 - 45 f/3.5 - 5.6 ASPH
Lumix G VARIO 7 - 14 f/4 ASPH

Leica (Panasonic)
DG Summilux 25 f/1.4
The 4/3 version D Summilux 25 is listed but not the micro 4/3 DG version.

And one more - Nikon SLR

Micro-NIKKOR 55 f/2.8

Thanks,
Mike

p.s. I did ask you about meeting for coffee the next I am in your neck of the woods quite a while back. I live over the hump in Everett. I want to head over this summer to do some panos of the Columbia. I will PM you when I do head over.

Hi - These lenses added, plus a bunch of other micro 4/3 too.
When you head this way drop me a PM and I'll be glad to meet for a chat. Everett... nice location... Until transferred south I motored up there every day from Northgate. Bought some Pentax 6x7 gear at Silver Lake Pharmacy.

Doug, looking at the lens listing, I noticed in the Voigtlander LTM section that the Voightlander Ultron ASPH 28mm f1.9 is listed as an f1.8.

Doug, here are four old Leitz lenses from the early 1950's that I use and could be added that I did not see:

Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar Summaron 3.5cm f3.5
Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Summitar 5 cm f/2
Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar Elmar 9cm f/4
Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Hektor 13.5cm f/4.5

For camera, you may want to add the Pentax K5IIs

Thanks, Dan

Ok, Dan, thanks. Cameras are not added in the same way as lenses... You can add your camera in the photo upload form: The Brand will be Pentax, and in the next field below put in just K5IIs for the Model. This camera model will be added to the gallery database, and you can then find it in the list and add it to your own sub-list. Then it will be choosable in the global camera field near the top of that pic upload page when you put in more pics shot with that gear.

Hi -- Need more detail, please... Are these Rikenon P or XR Rikenon with Pentax K mount, or the previous Auto Rikenon with M42 screw mount? Post everything printed on the lens that identifies it, except the serial number.

Same for the OM lenses. These should have something like F.Zuiko Auto-T on the ID ring, and this will vary from lens to lens.

Before I can enter the Ricoh lenses more information is needed, as stated above.

I did some research on Olympus lenses, and I think the list is now pretty well complete from 18mm through 100mm. The initial letter, for example "F-Zuiko", was used on older lenses only, the letter referring to the number of elements. Later, the letter was dropped and it became "Zuiko MC" for wider lenses, and without the MC for longer ones. The lenses may be slightly different optically and mechanically. The presence of these variations in the list makes it useful to be careful and specific when tagging your photos.

I've added some Zeiss Jena lenses in M42 screw mount. Flektogon, Biotar, Biometar, Pancolar, Sonnar...

Post here any lenses you want added to the list! How about some new Sony and Fuji lenses? Provide correct names.
